Hiring a private chef in Chicago raises one question. Is it worth it for a dinner at home?

For a birthday, an anniversary, or a small celebration, the answer is yes. You get a full menu built around what is good right now. It gets cooked in your own space. You stay at the table instead of refilling water glasses.

How it works

A Thursday Dinners booking runs the same way in every kitchen. A Lincoln Park greystone. A West Loop high-rise with two feet of counter space. Here is the process.

  1. We talk about the night. Guest count, occasion, allergies, and any dishes people are tired of.
  2. We build a seasonal menu. We shop Chicago. Green City Market when it runs. Dill Pickle Food Co-op. Local Foods. A short list of butchers and fishmongers we trust.
  3. We cook in your kitchen. We bring what we need and use your stove and oven. Most home kitchens, even small ones, are enough.
  4. We serve course by course. Plated or family-style, whichever fits the night. You stay at the table. We handle the kitchen.
  5. We clean up. You keep the leftovers. We take the mess.

What it costs

Every dinner is priced per person. The price depends on the menu, the guest count, and whether you want full service or a simpler drop-off setup.

There is no fixed package. Send a booking inquiry with your date and headcount. We will put together a quote.

Chicago logistics we already know

  • Building kitchens. Freight elevators, loading dock windows, and buzzer systems in River North and West Loop high-rises. We plan our arrival around them.
  • Older kitchens. Railroad-style layouts and small stoves in Wicker Park, Logan Square, and Pilsen two-flats. We bring induction burners when we need more capacity.
  • Parking and load-in. Alley access, permit zones, and rush-hour timing across the North Side and Near West Side.

That is not your problem to solve. It is ours.

Good occasions for a private chef

  • A milestone birthday, without you cooking it
  • An anniversary dinner at home instead of a reservation
  • A small client or team dinner that should feel personal
  • A family dinner that feels like a restaurant, in your own dining room
