A restaurant reservation is still a reservation. A table for a set window. A menu you did not choose. A room full of other people's celebrations.
A private anniversary dinner flips that. The table is yours. The night runs as long as you want. The menu is what the two of you actually like to eat.
Why cook it at home
An in-home dinner is not about avoiding a restaurant. It is about what you get instead.
Nobody is waiting on your table. There is no second seating pushing you toward dessert. The cooking happens quietly in the kitchen, not at the table or in view of it. The night stays yours. Your music, your candles, your own dining room.
This works in a Gold Coast high-rise with a skyline view. A Lincoln Park graystone with a table that has seen a decade of dinners. A West Loop loft with an open kitchen. A one-bedroom in Logan Square with barely enough counter space. We have cooked full anniversary menus in all of them.
What the night looks like
We start with a short conversation, not a form. How you two eat. What you have had too many times at other people's weddings. Whether a dish from your first date or your wedding belongs on the table.
From there, we build a menu around the season. Nothing off a fixed catering list. We come to your kitchen with everything we need.
We use your stove. We keep our footprint small. We handle timing so each course lands when it should, whether that is a slow four-course dinner or something looser and family-style.
You are not checking on anything. You are not refilling water. You are across the table from each other. That is the whole point of the evening.
When the last course is cleared, we clean the kitchen. We leave with the mess, not the leftovers. Those stay with you.
Planning it
Most couples start the conversation two to three weeks out. We can sometimes move faster for a date that snuck up on you.
Tell us the neighborhood, the kitchen you are working with, and anything either of you does not eat. We will take it from there.
Pricing depends on the menu and whether you want a full multi-course dinner or something simpler. There is no set package. Send a booking inquiry with your date and we will put a quote together.

FAQ
Is this only for milestone anniversaries? No. Plenty of the anniversary dinners we cook are the first, the fifth, or just an ordinary year someone decided deserved a real night. The dinner scales to the occasion, not the other way around.
Do you handle the wine and setting the table too? We focus on the food and can advise on pairing. You are welcome to handle wine and decor yourselves. Or we can talk through what makes sense for your space when we plan the menu.
What if our kitchen is small? Most Chicago apartment and condo kitchens are enough. We bring induction burners and extra equipment when a space needs it. We have cooked full dinners out of galley kitchens all over the city.
Can it just be the two of us? Yes. An anniversary dinner for two is one of the most common bookings we get. Send an inquiry and we will build it around exactly that.
